Welcome to the Sleep Council

The Sleep Council is a generic body that aims to raise awareness of the importance of a good night's sleep to health and wellbeing, provide helpful advice and tips on how to improve sleep quality and provide helpful advice on how to choose the right bed for optimum sleeping comfort.

This Week...

Spring is in the Air

The day are lighter, the sun is shining brighter (occasionally at least) and temperatures are (slowly) beginning to rise. And we bet your thoughts are (perhaps reluctantly) turning to the joys of a good spring clean!  Make sure you give your mattress some well-deserved attention in the process. If you haven't done so all winter, now's the time to give it a good airing, vacuum it carefully, turn or rotate it (see our tips on Caring for your Bed for more advice) - and carry out our Bed MOT to see if  it's time to get a new one!

Also try the all new, interactive My Bed Profile

It only takes a few minutes to complete the online questionnaire - at the end you’ll have your own, personalised guide to the sort of bed you should be looking for.

Why not watch our web TV chat, ’Bedding Down for Health - a good bed can promote Good Health from Top to Toe’. Jessica Alexander and experienced bed sales consultant Pauline Rawlings explain why a good bed is so important to getting a good nights sleep, provide lots of useful tips on choosing the right bed and answer viewers’ questions.
